Hey there, fellow explorers! I’m Rishabh Singh, and if you’re reading this on Weekend Revvs, you probably know that nothing beats the feeling of swapping the Gurgaon skyline for the jagged peaks of the Himalayas.
Whether you are a seasoned trekker or someone looking to test their lungs for the first time, Himachal Pradesh is the ultimate playground. In this edition of Mountain Gear-Up, I’m breaking down the best “bang-for-your-buck” treks—trails that offer world-class views without requiring you to be an elite athlete.
Triund Trek: The Crown Jewel of Dharamshala
Kheerganga: The Spiritual Soak in Parvati Valley
Prashar Lake: The Floating Island Mystery
Beas Kund: The Source of the River
Kareri Lake: The High-Altitude Meadow
Hampta Pass (Beginner’s Version): The Crossover Experience
Bhrigu Lake: The Sacred Blue Water
To make your journey smooth, start by packing the essentials: high-ankle trekking shoes, layered clothing (fleece and windcheaters), and a reusable water bottle. From Gurgaon, the easiest way to reach these trails is by taking an overnight Volvo bus to Manali or Dharamshala. Once you arrive, local HRTC buses or cabs will take you to the base camps. Remember, as travelers, it’s our job to protect these hills. Always follow the “Leave No Trace” policy—bring back your plastic and keep the mountains as beautiful as you found them.
Which of these peaks are you conquering first, Rishabh? Let me know in the comments below or tag us on Instagram @WeekendRevvs!
